Officers and Board MembersJohn Pellegrino, President, is a retired Professor of Music from Rhode Island College where he has run the Chamber Music Series for the last 15 years. Prior to being elected president of Music on the Hill, Mr. Pellegrino spent a year as vice president and has served on the board of directors for the last three years.Craig Kohanski, Vice President, is a retired Rhode Island employee with over 24 years of service as a Systems Analyst and Financial Assistant Director. Prior to state service he was a Captain in the U.S. Army and a Vietnam veteran.Gerard Pellegrino, Treasurer, is past Chairman of Board of the Greenwood Credit Union and owner of Pilgrim Pellegrino Adjusting.Rosemary Hobson, Secretary, is a retired elementary teacher with a passion for music. Ms. Hobson studied Sociology and Philosophy at Boston College and has a masters degree in Human Development, Counseling and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Arnold "Nick" Butziger is a trumpet player, retired after 35 years of teaching Mathematics and Computer Science in the Warwick School System. With a minor in Music from URI, he was manager of the Toll Gate String Orchestra for over 20 years and was on the Board of Directors for the Warwick Music Festival. He currently is an instructor of mathematics at New England Technical Institute as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Greenwood Credit Union. Nick has been the owner and operator of a charter fishing boat for the past 42 years and is actively involved in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Elisa Kohanski is principal cellist in the Wheeling Symphony and an adjunct faculty member at Grove City College and Westminster College.Maria Kohanski is a retired Warwick, RI public elementary school teacher. She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and MA in education from Rhode Island College. Maria enjoys singing with her parish choir and listening to classical music.Alice Pellegrino is a retired Assistant Professor of Music Education at the Henry Barnard School, Rhode Island College. Prior to Henry Barnard School she taught public school music in New York and Connecticut, and applied voice at Rhode Island College.Carol Pellegrino has a private violin/viola teaching studio. She is Executive Director of the Warwick National HS Orchestra Festival, and retired Orchestra Director of Toll Gate HS in Warwick RI. Carol was a violinist with the RI Philharmonic Orchestra and String Quartet.John Mark Pellegrino is assistant principal bassist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and on the faculty at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.Kristen Pellegrino is currently pursuing her doctorate in Music at the University of Michigan after teaching in Warwick for eight years and directing the Toll Gate HS and All-City Elementary Orchestras.Larry Rachleff is the music director of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Professor of Music and Music Director of the Shepherd School Symphony and Chamber Orchestras at Rice University.Priscilla Rigg is founder of Music on the Hill and Music Director at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.Henry Tarlian is President of the Warwick Music Festival Inc., former Superintendent of the Warwick Public Schools, Life Member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and strong supporter of music education. |
