Musician Bio

Eileen Coyne

Eileen Coyne made her solo debut last year with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra after being selected as the winner of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition in the Music School Division. She has since performed as a member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Chamber Ensemble, the Boston Youth Symphony, and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Last year, Eileen was selected as an alternate for the Kennedy Center Summer Institute with the National Symphony Orchestra, and this year, she will tour England with the Boston Youth Symphony. She was one of four Rhode Island students selected to perform with the MENC All Eastern Band in March, 2009. She has also performed with the Boston Youth Symphony as principal horn at Boston Symphony Hall, Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre, Smetana Hall in the Czech Republic, and Gewandhaus in Germany.

Eileen began her studies in French horn at the age of 10 with Nedo Pandolfi, former principal horn of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, music director of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and music director of Ponaganset High School. She continues her studies with Richard Sebring, associate principal horn in the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and performs with the award-winning Ponaganset High School
Wind Ensemble.
